Thursday Events

Thursday, October 24th:

Pilgrimage to The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament (6am-5pm – All ages!)

For the early arrivals, come join us as we make a short pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament. We will depart the hotel for Hanceville, AL at an early 6:00 a.m.. A pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament provides a place for prayer and quiet contemplation – we will tour this beautiful place, attend Mass and silently join the Nuns as they pray the Liturgy of the Hours and Holy Rosary.

The Shrine itself, both the church and Our Lady of the Angels monastery, are modeled on the great Italian churches of the 13th Century, the time period that experienced the birth of the Franciscan charism.

This is about a three hour trip to the Shrine, so plan accordingly.   We will have time to visit the Gift Shop and some free time to look over the grounds as well.  As a special treat, you will be allowed the option of taking the Shrine tour or the John Paul II Eucharistic Center tour. We will stop along the return trip for early dinner with an arrival time of about 5:00 p.m. back at the hotel.

Cost: There is no cost for the tour itself, but donations to the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament are much appreciated. Transportation options to the Shrine will depend on the number of early registrations received. We will either rent a van or carpool and pay the vehicle owner’s expense. The Shrine is wheelchair and handicap accessible. Hosted by Johnny. Click here to RSVP! Registration extended through Wednesday, October 23rd, 11:59pm CST – or until full, whichever comes first.
